Doppler Countdown

In about 36 hours I’ll know what my veins look like.  After months of searching for someone to check my neck for signs of CCSVI, I finally found someone to do the doppler to check my veins!  I’m seeing an interventional radiologist on Wednesday.  If my veins are blocked, I’ll have the option of doing angioplasty.

As much as I want my veins unblocked (assuming they are blocked), it’s hard to know if surgery is the right option.  It’s all still so new.  Folks are having amazing results from the surgery.  Do we know what the risks are?  Do we know how long the veins will stay open?  I have so many questions.  I am generally not a risk taker, but if this will help me get some of my life back and slow the progression of MS, shouldn’t I just do it?

Time to stop playing hours of Bejeweled Blitz (yes, I’m addicted) and time to start doing even more CCSVI research!
