Life with MS & EDS

About

Hey! I’m Ivy. I’m in my mid-30s and live in the Philly area with my two wonderful girls and my fantastic husband. Just about 5 months ago I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and just last week found out I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My mind has been overwhelmed with the news and hope that blogging will bring some clarity, allow some place to complain every now and again, and to have a place to track how things are going. Perhaps it will even help me connect with others dealing with similar challenges.

  1. Hi Ivy,

Welcome to blogging and to the MS Blogging community. I’m sorry that you had to develop MS to qualify, but there are lots of nice folks out here living with MS and trying to come to terms with what that means. If you need any help, please feel free to ask.

  2. Hi Ivy,
Have you given this article to your doctor yet?
Vilisaar J, Harikrishnan S, Suri M, Constantinescu CS. Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and multiple sclerosis: a possible association. Mult Scler. 2008;14(4):567-570.
    It can be found here:

    Hang in there!

  4. Hi Ivy!

I never thought I’d find someone who has MS and EDS like me. Would definitely love to talk. Right now, both seem to be flared up. My hands are splitting (when I stretch my hands), and my POTS (tachycardia from EDS), and my MS is just flared up from stress. 😛 Anyway…all the best to you and hope to hear from you soon.

  5. Hello Ivy. I just found your blog. We are in kind of similar situation, I guess. I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and MS, too! EDS was diagnosed two years ago, and MS was diagnosed one year ago.

I’m wishing you all the best. You’ll find your way to copy with your illnesses.
